Why Do We Need More Pre-School Teachers?
Early childhood education in India is expanding fast. Trained nursery teachers are needed in private schools, franchises, Anganwadis and new Balvatikas under NEP 2020.
India’s pre-school and childcare market is expected to more than double in value over the next decade, growing at around 10% every year. More centres and chains mean thousands of new classrooms that need trained nursery teachers.
Reports show the preschool market growing strongly up to 2030 and beyond, as more parents choose structured, play-based early education. This steady growth creates continuous demand for qualified NTT teachers in cities and small towns.
NEP 2020 has added three years of pre-school (Balvatika) before Class 1 in government schools. States are now setting up Balvatikas and recruiting Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) educators – opening future pathways for trained pre-school teachers.
